My 87-year-old father has been a resident for about a year. The staff is very friendly and caring, and the facility is well kept and managed. I feel very comfortable that he is in a safe place that affords him freedom to come and go as he pleases.

Jen was awesome as well as Nikki and the rest of the staff. Every time I call about my mom, they know exactly what’s going on. Thank you for taking such good care of all the areas that were needed.

This place is amazing, the staff, residents and atmosphere is great and I’m blessed to have been given the chance to experience a well managed business. The moment you walk into The Brook of Portland, someone is willing to help you even if they’re flooded in things to do. Everyone is friendly and welcomes anyone with open arms. The manager is always willing to help and discuss anything to manage and make sure all of the residents are well taken care of, happy and healthy. All of the staff always have a smile on their face and with the most respect and duty, do their best and push past that to assure the residents are well maintained, Fed, in and out of bed when needed and laughing throughout the day, trying to make this experience the best they could have asked for. I would recommend this place if you have a relative that needs to be placed into a retirement home.

The Brook of Portland has been a wonderful place for my 92-year old mother to live for the past two years. She is in a safe environment and has access to friends and social activities, which I think are the two most important things for seniors. My only concern is the frequent turnover of staff, including managers. It's a little disconcerting for Mom when the familiar faces disappear and are replaced with new ones. I have no concerns about the caliber of the staff---just wish that they would stay longer so that the residents could rely on them being around.

The Brook of Portland is a beautiful place. We like the layout of the building and the way it is decorated. The extra work to decorate each holiday really makes the Brook of Portland feel like a home.

We recently had our dad, Cliff, at The Brook. Although it turns out he needed a memory care facility we could not have been happier with Lisa and her staff! It is a beautiful facility and while we had to move dad, I’m so happy we were able to have him here for even the short time we did. We learned so much and Lisa was so very helpful! We were learning as we go and she helped us every step of the way with patience, kindness, knowledge and humor! I would not hesitate to recommend them in a heartbeat! Thank you to everyone there - including their amazing residents!!

My mother has lived at The Brook of Portland for 3 years and she enjoys it. the staff are great help to her and the family. She turned 100 6 months ago and we had a nice party there. The small town of Portland has a lot of local residents that my mother in law knows. They are able to visit her frequently. I know she is safe at The Brook.

This place is amazing. The people are so friendly and helpful. I do wish they would hold fire drills with local fire dept to be aware of fire safety. My mother loves this place!

We could not be more pleased with the loving care our parents have received at the Brook. The staff is amazing! We are so thankful for the clean, beautiful building and for all of the extra activities and care provided.

Beautiful facility in a great location. Competitive pricing. Inconsistent housekeeping- it took several weeks and 3 enquiries to get sheets changed weekly. Slow/ no response to voicemails and e-mails. Not the healthiest meals.

We love the Brook the staff is awesome. Joseph the manager is amazing. They are all so kind and loving. My mom loves it. They have made the transition so much easier for all of us.

My mother-in-law has been living here almost a year. The accommodations are very comfortable and well designed. The staff goes out of the way to meet the residents needs. The current manager is a real star. He often organize musical groups to come in and also outings. It is common to find him walking around at meals checking on resident needs and well being. Mom is always playing cards or bingo or hanging out with her new friends at meals. We couldn't be happier with our choice of The Brook.

Great place! Kind, caring, welcoming staff. Beautiful decor and very clean. Staff anticipates needs and go above and beyond to help with any question or concern. They are all good natured and positive people. Joseph Marlow, manager has been helpful at every turn. He is kind and always makes time in his busy days to address our questions. He is knowledgeable and has a calm, pleasant nature that immediately put our family at ease. He is authentic and truly cares about the residents and families.

My Mother moved into The Brook after struggling to live alone. I am so happy/relieved she moved to The Brook in Portland. The Director of the facility has been a joy to work with and the staff has nailed all my expectations for my Mother’s care. She enjoys the food and the company of the other residents. I highly recommend The Brook for anyone looking for a safe, clean, well-run facility for their loved one.

The Brook of Portland is a beautiful community, The employees are nice and welcoming. Laurie Battin is well suited and knowledgeable.

The staff at the Portland Brook are the kindness and good hearted people. The Building is so beautiful and so well keep!! The actives are fun for ALL Residents. I believe it is a must see Community!!!!
