“From the time that my mother and stepfather moved in 18 months ago, through the time of my stepfather’s unexpected passing, and through the current COVID-19 pandemic, the people and the place have been perfect for my mother. Diana, the administrator, is able to blend practicality with caring in a way that considers each resident and staff member as part of the family. The words we heard when we were moving Mom and Merl in were always, “Of course! This is their home.” any time we had a question or request. This has truly been Mom’s home, and residents interact as family. Staff are truly there to help, but they too share their lives with residents. We’re all excited that Lexi is set to graduate this year, and we all hope she gets the chance for the ceremony. While we know that residents are disappointed right now that they must stay safe in their rooms and not join together in the halls and the beautiful common areas, we are thankful that the measures taken to keep residents safe have been effective. None of the residents has contracted the disease. All of the staff and residents have continued in good health. Knowing how easily this virus spreads and the great harm that has befallen residents in other facilities, we want to commend Diana and the administration of The Brook Retirement Communities for taking the necessary steps to keep people, many of whom have compromised immune systems, out of harm’s way through all of this. Knowing the high standards adhered to in this retirement community, we continue to celebrate the choice we made in moving Mom here. We also celebrate the confidence during this worrisome time that every precaution is taken to ensure the continued wellbeing of each soul living and working at The Brook of Cedar Springs. “
