Q: Are you a nursing home?
A: No. We are full service retirement community. The vast majority of our residents enjoy active and independent living; however, we offer additional care services should your health needs ever change.

Q: How much is this going to cost me?
A: We offer some of the most affordable Assisted Living, Independent Living and Memory Care rates in Michigan. Our fee structure is based on the amount of care you or your loved one requires and within a comfortable range for most seniors with a modest retirement income.

Q: What levels of care do you offer?
A: We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Respite Care at most of our Brook Retirement Communities. Visit a specific Brook Retirement Community on this website for more details.

Q: What if my spouse needs care but I don’t?
A: Typically, couples can stay together in the same apartment and there is not a fee for the second person if they are not receiving any services. If your spouse needs care but you don’t, we’ll work with you to determine the right living situation for you both.

Q: Can my grandkids or family members stay overnight?
A: Friends and family are welcome to stay with you temporarily in your apartment home. Arrangements can be made with the community general manager.

Q: Can I bring my car?
A: Yes. In addition to utilizing a community parking lot, a limited number of garaged parking is also available for a fee.

Q: What if I have dietary restrictions
A: The Brook Retirement Communities can accommodate most nutritional and dietary needs. Our chefs regularly prepare options for residents who prefer low-sodium, sugar-free, low cholesterol, gluten free or vegetarian meals.

Q: Who decides if I need care or what type of care I need?
A: If a concern arises about your ability to live independently, a member of our staff will meet with you and your family to discuss options. If there are changes in your health that require a higher level of care, our staff will arrange a meeting with you and your family to discuss the recommended or necessary changes. Our goal is to ensure you receive the highest level of care in order for you to maintain the highest quality of life.
